Greater Fools

A Cheeky Fantasy Adventure inside the Crypto Gold Rush

by

Scott Baldyga/ Tboh

In the summer of 2021, perfectly normal people were pulling their cars over to stab maniacally at their phones, desperate to buy a $200 jpeg of a paisley goat with a corn dog in its mouth and a Rasta hat on its head from a surely criminal stranger, just to flip it sixty-nine seconds later for $2,000 to their "frens," then gleefully repeat the process eight more times that day.

It was the stupidest gold rush in human history.

We held them like holographic Charizards. We gambled our college loan money. We yoinked generational wealth. And we lost it all. But we still clutch the jpegs. Cuz they'll be back.

Right?

Meet Hap — a digital raccoon living inside the Solana blockchain with a hobo pack, a guilt complex, and a girl to rescue he might've just murdered.

Meet Sam - a shy teenage artist accidentally becoming a crypto legend and, even odder, suddenly in a relationship with a real girl.

Their worlds are about to collide in the darkest, most gloriously unhinged corner of the internet.

About the Author

Scott Baldyga/ Tboh

Scott Baldyga was a writer, screenwriter, and filmmaker with thirty years in Hollywood. Then he discovered crypto. In the great gold rush of 2021 he lost everything, clawed his way back, and lost it all again.

After a career of six-figure advances from HarperCollins, a #1-on-Amazon book release, rewrites on Disney fantasy films, appearing onstage with 12 Grammy-winning acts, and writing screenplays with multiple producers of multiple Oscar-winning films — now he writes about magic internet money and the jpegs he roundtripped from three figures to six figures to diddlysquat.

What a time to be alive.

Tboh is Scott's not-so-anonymous crypto anon and the book's self-proclaimed real author, having documented the entire story when Scott blubbered it into his ear on the sticky floor of a Venice Beach public urinal during a whiskey-induced fever dream.

Scott disputes this. Tboh does not.
